Terms of service

These Terms govern your use of the Safer City GO mobile application and related services provided by Safer City Solutions (Pty) Ltd. By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to create an account. A parent or guardian may add a minor as a Family Circle member, but the account-holder must be an adult.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password and safe-word confidential. Notify us immediately at info@safercitygo.com if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity on your account.

3. Subscriptions and payments

Paid tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) are billed monthly via our payment processors (Paystack and equivalents) and the App Store / Google Play. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel at any time in your app settings.

5. SOS and emergency response

SOS dispatch is best-effort. While we operate a 24/7 control room and partner with certified responders in supported regions, we cannot guarantee response time or outcome. The Services do not replace 112, 10111, 911, or your local emergency number — call your local emergency line first whenever possible.

6. Crime data

The Verified Crime Incidents Map is informational. We make reasonable efforts to vet reports, but cannot guarantee that every incident shown is accurate, complete, or up-to-date. Do not rely solely on the map for safety decisions.

7. Family Circle

Family Circle members must consent to share their location with you. Removing a member stops all data flow between you. We are not responsible for relationship disputes arising from Circle use.

8. Intellectual property

The Services, brand, design, and content are owned by Safer City Solutions (Pty) Ltd or our licensors. You may use the Services only as permitted by these Terms.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Safer City Solutions is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time and delete your account from inside the app or by emailing info@safercitygo.com — see our Delete account page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of South Africa, except where local law in your country gives you a different right.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
